Poor Cameron, he worked so hard to finish his book for Young Authors Night. Even though EVERYONE else in the class was able to finish (they must have been distracting him - darn those kids) as hard as he tried, he was unable to get it even half way done. He was so upset about this. That is why it was impossible for him to finish his poetry book too (that EVERYONE else was able to accomplish).
OK - back to reality...
Reagan was very excited to show us the stack of books he
wrote (including the front cover, the dedication, his
illustrations and don't forget the back cover - we were
there for awhile)! His teacher was praising him for his
great choice of words and creativity (she is awesome!!)!
The Fire and Flames by Reagan
One day in Mt. Rushmore there was a blizzard. Scorpianic the scorpion and a red ant named Redge tried to start a fire on the top of the mountain. It broke some of the mountain and Scorpianic fell down a trench. He fell to the center of the earth and it almost killed him. He broke three legs, lost his tail and turned all black. Redge jumped down the trench to try to save him because he thought he was a super hero. He lost one antennae and lost five legs. Then Tranky the anteater leaned over the trench and caught Redge the ant. Tranky spit him out at the top of the trench and lava came down and Scorpianic dug a hole and filled it back up. Rocks came tumbling down and there were millions of rocks falling down every second. The ground started getting flaming hot. He thought he was going to melt. Lava started flowing down the tunnel. Scorpianic was on a rock. He was flowing down on a lava rock. He got hit with dozens of rocks. He was down there for 26 years. He ate lava rocks, and after 26 years he saw his friends. When he got up the trench everything on Redge's body was robotic and they fixed Scorpianic up. Half of him was robotic.
Moral: Never try to make a fire in a blizzard or on a mountain!
(if you would like to see the illustrations that go along with the story, feel free to come over - be sure to allow yourself some EXTRA time - Reagan likes to explain EVERTHING!)

Scorpianic? Redge? tranky? has reagan been going through your church address book AGAIN?
Does Reagan get his imagination from you or Bill?
That's a terrific story! I can't wait to see the cover in person - and the back cover.
...I think he takes after his aunt Annie! Very well written!! Danny and I loved the story!
Great story - the boys loved it! I wish we could come over and see the illustrations.
He had me at "scorpianic."
Don't tell Cameron, but one time I was supposed to read "The Witch of Blackbird Pond." I didn't. My mom stayed up all night reading it, then helped me do my report. Did I learn my lesson? NO. Was it totally awesome? Pretty much.
